Tenerife is abundant inbeautiful sandy beaches, banana plantations, mountainous areas or the active volcano Teide. The diversity of the island’s terrain and climate zones makes Tenerife a truly miniature continent. The island guarantees more than 300 days of sunshine a year and the summer season lasts here almost all the time. Tenerife is the largest and most beautiful volcanic island in the Canary Islands archipelago. Tenerife is closer to Africa than Europe. It is only 300 km away from the African continent and 1,000 km from the Iberian Peninsula and Spain. The island is relatively small. It is only 80 km long and 50 km wide. It is located in the center of the archipelago, amongst the islands Gran Canaria in the east and La Gomera and La Palma in the west.
The island is ideal for almost everyone. Surfers, windsurfers, kite surfers and even divers can train and relax. Here you will find the incredible volcano Teide, the highest peak of all the Canary Islands, as well as the whole of Spain, as well as the laurel forests, unusual volcanic beaches, and lush vegetation in the north of the island.
The island is a paradise for fans of sunbathing, but also hiking. The mountain ranges encourage longer trekking and walks. In addition to a trip to the top of the Teide volcano, there is also a plethora of trekking routes in the beautiful Anaga mountains. Tenerife, due to its shape, is also an ideal place to ride a bike.
Tenerife is a perfect place for children. Water parks, miniature park, Loro Park – where visitors can see more than 300 species of animals and witness a show of dolphins, sea lions, or parrots. These are also the pyramids of Guimar, the 18 kilometer-long Wind Cave, and much more.
